Pros:
Does a good job of getting under the pad level of tackle and steering him, or shedding him…Finds the ball well down the line to make plays…Good hustle.. Long…tough…disciplined in his assignments, unselfish…plays the run well…has a pretty good burst off the line of scrimmage…durable…Good pursuit speed and good closing speed
Cons:
Needs to continue to refine his pass rushing arsenal… Doesn’t have tremendous production or make lot of splash plays…Needs to do a better job getting his hands up when he doesn’t reach home..not an elite athlete
Player Comparison:
Jared Allen, Vikings
I’m not saying he’ll become Jared Allen, I’m just saying they play in similar manner. Allen remember was a fourth round pick in the draft coming from Idaho State and he dominated the competition. But when you look at Roh you seem a similar kind of player, a guy who has good length and pursuit and plays with good leverage, a guy who is long and they weigh about the same a guy who plays both the run and pass effectively.
I think Allen is a better athlete, but Roh is no slouch. He was a four star recruit out of high school and I believe a top 100 player.
Round Projection: 4th round in 2012 (higher in 2013)
Thoughts:
Roh is one of the players who got lost in the Rich Rodriguez debacle for the Michigan Wolverines. He’s a very under rated player right now. He’s long and athletic with a good motor. He plays with good leverage and finds the football well. He is an unselfish player who does what he’s suppose to do and that has probably hurt his numbers a bit. This year though you can see he’s more comfortable in his game than he was last year and his production is better. He still needs to make more splash plays, and is a step away from making more plays. Another year of seasoning and he could jump into the 2nd round range for the 2013 N.F.L. draft. Roh has sneaky good potential.
NFLmocks preseason Bio:
Roh, like Robinson and Roundtree, would really benefit by staying for his senior season. He was simply moved around too much under Rich Rodriguez and will need to use the extra year to improve his skills as pass rusher from the defensive end spot. His 6’5″ frame, as well as his speed, suggests that he has the potential to be an elite pass rusher, both in college and at the next level. If he goes pro after this season I would expect him to be a late 5th round selection.”
