2012 NFL Mock Draft Raiders Full 7 Round Mock

facebooktwitterreddit

I had a few minutes this morning so I thought I’d put together an Oakland Raiders mock draft. Sorry Oakland Raiders fans, this is going to be depressing. What’s crazy? In the last three the Raiders have traded away or used draft picks in the first, third, and fourth round on quarterbacks!! Right now, the Oakland Raiders only have their 5th and 6th round pick because of all of the trades they have made.  Their first round pick belongs to the Oakland Raiders (Carson Palmer), their second round pick belongs to the New England Patriots (of course), their third round pick is tied up in Terrelle Pryor, their fourth round pick was used in a trade with Washington Oakland Raiders. The 7th round pick was probably their best trade as they landed former first round pick Aaron Curry who has flashed some ability at the linebacker spot already.

5th round pick Emanuel Davis CB East Carolina

A good athlete with natural speed. Davis doesn’t have great size, but could add more bulk. The Raiders don’t play with much consistency, but have few true needs. With are Aaron Curry their linebackers have a lot of talent, they are stout up front, Tyvon Branch is playing well at safety. The Raiders are really a talented team, they just need to find some consistency. I recognize that they drafted cornerbacks with two of  their  picks last year, but with so few picks they have to get value. The cornerback class is pretty deep so that’s a good place to get value this year.

6th round pick T.J. Barnes, Georgia Tech

This is an anti-Raiders pick, but I’m making it here anyway to highlight how poorly the Raiders have played vs the run the entire season. He Raiders have talent up front, but their talent along the defensive line has struggled stopping the run this year. The Raiders are giving up a 132 rushing yards per game this season. Enter Barnes, a massive man that plays for Georiga Tech and is an absolute monster. 6’7 347 pounds. This won’t be the pick because he isn’t an explosive player, but they should consider adding some bulk to the defensive line to help them stop the run. They are solid in a lot of other areas.

That’s all!

All the Raiders pick because three of them are tied into quarterbacks (Palmer, Pryor, Campbell).
