2011 NFL Mock Draft: vs Pat Kiriwan. Blaine Gabbert Falling?

facebooktwitterreddit

Today is the day that we have been looking forward to for a long time. The 2011 NFL Draft is upon us. Now, it wouldn’t be right if I didn’t put out one last mock. This is the mock that I am going to be comparing against all of the top analysts. Best out of 32 wins. This is the first year I plan to compare my mocks to theirs. I am planning on comparing my final mock to what actually happens in a few days. For now, here is the last 2011 mock.

1. Carolina Panthers- Cam Newton, QB, Auburn
Anything other then Newton would be a complete shock.

Kirwan: Newton

2. Denver Broncos- Patrick Peterson, CB, LSU
Not buying into the Von Miller hype since it started 2 days before the Draft

Kiriwan: Dareus

3. Buffalo Bills- Marcel Dareus, DT, Alabama
They are extremely happy Denver passed. They get much needed help on the DL

Kiriwan: Miller

4. Cincinnati Bengals- AJ Green, WR, Georgia
Bye Bye Ocho Cinco. So long Terrel Owens.

Kiriwan: A.J. Green

5. Arizona Cardinals- Von Miller, Texas A&M
They need to get to the QB and Miller does that very well.

Kiriwan: Peterson

6. Cleveland Browns- Julio Jones, WR, Alabama
Colt McCoy finally has a legit target to throw too. Cleveland is on the rise

Kiriwan: Quinn

7. San Francisco 49ers- Prince Amukamara, CB, Nebraska
Nobody really has an idea who the 4ers are going to draft. I’m guessing Amukamara is the pick.

Kiriwan: Amukamara

8. Tennessee Titans- Blaine Gabbert, QB, Missouri
Gabbert falls and the Titans don’t have to make a huge reach by drafting Dalton.

Kiriwan: Nick Fairley

9. Dallas Cowboys- JJ Watt, DE, Wisconsin
Rob Ryan has been going to bat for him. A tough, blue collar player to help that defense.

Kiriwan: Tyron Smith

10. Washington Redskins- Cameron Jordan, DT, Cal
If they don’t trade up for a QB, they add the very versatile, talented D-Lineman from Cal.

Kiriwan: Julio Jones

11. Houston Texans- Robert Quinn, DE/OLB, North Carolina
The Texans need more 3-4 players for the new 3-4 defense Wade Phillips plans to implement.

Kiriwan: J.J. Watt

12. Minnesota Vikings- Nick Fairley, DT, Auburn
Fairley takes a slide on draft day and finds himself up in cold Minnesota.

Kiriwan: Cameron Jordan

13. Detroit Lions- Tyron Smith, OT, USC
Matt Stafford and his shoulder call the Lions front office thanking them for picking Smith.

Kiriwan: Anthony Castanzo

14. St Louis Rams- Corey Liuget, DT, Illinios
Liuget has been the favorite for the Rams ever since Julio Jones made it clear he was too talented to fall that far.

Kiriwan: Ryan Kerrigan

15. Miami Dolphins- Ryan Mallett, QB, Arkansas
I am buying into the hype. Dolphins take a shot on the QB with a huge arm, but questionable character.

Kiriwan: Blaine Gabbert

16. Jacksonville Jaguars- Ryan Kerrigan, DE, Purdue
Kerrigan is another pick that many people have been mocking for months. It makes too much sense.

Kiriwan: Aldon Smith

17. New England Patriots- Aldon Smith, DE, Missouri
BB picks up Smith who has fallen a tiny bit. The Pats will find a spot for the pass rusher.

Kiriwan: Gabe Carimi

18. San Diego Chargers- Gabe Carimi, OT, Wisconsin
Patriots lose out on a top DE or OLB and settle by taking a new tackle to protect Phillip Rivers

Kiriwan: Phil Taylor

19. New York Giants- Mark Ingram, RB, Alabama
Giants can go OL here, but Ingram is good value and could have a fantastic career.

Kiriwan: Nate Solder

20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Da’Quan Bowers, DE, Clemson
Bowers slide stops at Tampa Bay who takes the risk and drafts the former top 5 prospect

Kiriwan: Da’Quan Bowers

21. Kansas City Chiefs- Phil Taylor, DT, Baylor
I’ve been mocking this pick forever. They could go OL here, but plenty of OL can be had later. Not many 3-4 NT’s in this draft.

Kiriwan: Mike Pouncey

22. Indianapolis Colts- Anthony Castonzo, OT, Boston College
If this pick is anything other then OT, the Colts fans will riot. They have got to protect Peyton Manning.

Kiriwan: Corey Liuget

23. Philadelphia Eagles- Marvin Austin, DT, North Carolina
Eagles take the risk and draft the very talented DT who was at one point a top 10 pick.

Kiriwan: Jimmy Smith

24. New Orleans Saints- Muhammad Wilkerson- DT, Temple
Wilkerson is a raw talent, but could be a very good player with some development. Saints address major DL need here.

Kiriwan: Marvin Austin

25. Seattle Seahawks- Mike Pouncey, G, Florida
Will the Seahawks draft a QB? I don’t know, but Pouncey is the best G in this draft. He’s good value at this spot and will be a pro bowl G some day.

Kiriwan: Jake Locker

26. Baltimore Ravens- Jimmy Smith, CB, Colorado
The extremely talented CB with lots of character concerns takes his talents to Baltimore. He will be surrounded with lots of veteran leadership.

Kiriwan: Muhammad Wilkerson

27. Atlanta Falcons- Justin Houston, DE, Georgia
Atlanta goes green here, if you know what I mean. Houston is a nice talent who will help Atlanta fight off the Saints for the divisional crown.

Kiriwan: Kyle Rudolph

28. New England Patriots- Jake Locker, QB, Washington
No, I’m not saying the Patriots are drafting a QB. I’m saying the Patriots are trading down and someone else is grabbing Locker here.

Kiriwan: Cameron Heyward

29. Chicago Bears- Nate Solder, OT, Colorado
Chicago needs to help Cutler or he will have a grade 2 ACL sprain and miss crucial games.

Kiriwan: Akeem Ayers

30. New York Jets- Akeem Ayers, LB, UCLA
Jets need more tools for Rex Ryan to use to get to Tom Brady. Ayers’ best ability is rushing the passer.

Kiriwan: Justin Houston

31. Pittsburgh Steelers- Derek Sherrod, OT, Mississippi St.
Pittsburgh reportedly loves Pouncey. Now, I heard that rumor very recently so it very well could be a smokescreen. Either way, Pittsburgh needs to address the OL and Sherrod fits the bill.

Kiriwan: Aaron Williams

32. Green Bay- Andy Dalton, QB, TCU
Green Bay will trade this pick if one of the top 5 QB prospects are available: Newton, Gabbert, Locker, Mallett, and Dalton. Someone will trade up to snag the signal caller from TCU before New England gets to auction their 33rd pick for a fortune.

Kiriwan: Mark Ingram
