Anthony Castonzo- OT- Boston College
6-7 295lbs Junior
Pros:
Castonzo will be battling Wisconsin’s Gabe Carimi for the top tackle spot in the 2010 NFL Draft. Those players are very different; Castonzo is more athletic but lacks the overpowering size. However, Castonzo’s athletic ability will draw the eye of many NFL scouts because he stands a better chance at slowing down the fast defensive ends in the NFL. Castonzo combines his athletic ability with good footwork and technique. He does an excellent job at sliding his feet and staying in front of pass rushers. He uses his long arms to engage defenders and knock them off balance. Castonzo has been starting on the Boston College offensive line since his freshman season. His experience in pressure situations is a real positive.
Cons:
The biggest knock on Castonzo is his questionable strength. He is extremely athletic but doesn’t have great strength and could have a hard time opening holes in the running game. Something that would help Castonzo is if he added some weight to his frame.
Thoughts:
Castonzo’s questionable strength is a real concern but with the proper weight room coach that could be solved quickly. What can’t be taught is his athletic ability and that’s what NFL scouts will be focusing on.
Projected Round:
Castonzo is going to be a 1st round selection it is just a matter of how high? He could easily crack the top 10.

he’s getting hyped now but maybe not a 1st rounder when it all comes due
From the reports I have seen it looks like he hasnt worked his way into the rotation yet.
