Chicago Bears Contributing Rookies

NFL Mocks is going to do a team by team look at what rookies have the potential to contribute during their first season.  Every year there are countless rookies that have major and minor impacts.  Everyone expects the 1st round picks to make an impact but we hope to point out some other players that may help your favorite team win games.

The Chicago Bears had to wait until the 3rd round to make their first selection of the 2010 NFL Draft but they still hope to find some late round gems.

Major Wright– Wright was the Bears first pick and he is coming in and hoping to compete for one of the starting safety positions.  The Safety position has been a major topic amoung Bear’s fans and the are counting on Wright to contribute right away.  If Wright fails to take control of the position right away you can expect to see him on special teams and waiting in the wings to take over one of the starting spots.

Corey Wootton– Many draft scouts have said that if Wootton didn’t suffer a major knee injury he would have been a 1st round pick.  However, he did suffer that injury and it has taken awhile but he feels that is is 100% healthy.  The Bears let both of last season starting defensive ends go so it is not unthinkable that Wootton could break into the defensive line rotation.

Joshua Moore– Word out of Bears camp is that Moore is making a push for the nickle back position.  Either way it shakes out you can expect to see Moore contributing on special teams.
