6-2 251lbs. Senior
Stats:
2007- 5 receptions, 94 yards, 0 touchdowns
2008- 61 receptions, 723 yards, 3 touchdowns
2009- 32 receptions, 411 yards, 3 touchdowns
Pros:
The first thing I noticed when watching DJ Williams’ film was how well he blocks. He is an incredible run blocker, to the point where if you are a linebacker or safety you can forget about making the play. He has great hand placement when blocking and drives his opponent until the whistle. With so many weapons on the Arkansas Razorback offense, he is also asked to stay in for pass protection quite often, he excels at this also. Has deceptive speed, can get down the seam. Very good hands. Not afraid to catch the ball in traffic.
Cons:
Needs to define his body. If he dropped 10 lbs. of fat and added muscle, he could be a serious threat. His speed, although deceptive, could be a hindrance in the NFL. Since he is surrounded by so many weapons, he might be the 4th option in most games this season.
Thoughts:
His willingness to block, above average hands and ability to get down the seam, make him an attractive option in the 2011 NFL draft.
Projected Round:
DJ Williams graded out as a 3rd round pick in the 2011 NFL Draft.
