Here is my first mock draft. I want to hear your comments!!
1. St. Louis Rams- QB- Sam Bradford- Okla.
- Bradford all but guaranteed himself the #1 overall pick after his impressive Pro Day. He provides the Rams something they sorely need…..HOPE. This is the right pick here and will get this franchise moving in the right direction. The only way this doesn’t happen is if Bradford gets unreal with his contract talks.
2. Detroit Lions- DT- Ndamukong Suh- Neb.
- Suh is a can’t miss prospect and will add to an improving defensive line. Suh has high character and a high motor and will fit right in with Coach Schwartz’s scheme. Suh will be a force for years to come.
3. Tampa Bay Bucs- DT- Gerald McCoy- Okla.
- McCoy will be a disruptive force on a defense desperate for talent. There are a lot of people that feel McCoy is better than Suh, so in some eyes the Bucs will get the best player in the draft at pick 3. It may just be the Oklahoma ties but McCoy gives me the Tommie Harris vibe, as a player that is capable of getting in the backfield on every play.
4. Washington Redskins- T- Russell Okung- Okla. St.
- I have a feeling McNabb is texting Coach Shanahan every hour pleading with him to select Okung. The Redskins need to protect McNabb by upgrading the talent along the offensive line. Okung is the top rated tackle has the potential to be a Pro Bowler.
5. Kansas City Chiefs- S- Eric Berry- Tenn.
- The Chiefs could go with someone like Trent Williams or Bryan Bulaga but I am not sold on their potential and I am sure Scott Pioli has some questions. With Berry you have an All-World talent that will provide the Chief’s defense with a much needed playmaker. Many feel that a top 5 pick for safety is a reach but Pioli showed last season he will reach for a need or a player he likes (Tyson Jackson).

WHOA!!!
TJ!!!
I figured from your MTD days, you’d know the “consequences” of mocking Sergio Kindle to the Giants.
That’s a bad pick man…we have Clint Sintim as our current 3-4 OLB to SAM LB project. No sense getting another..and a lesser prospect in Kindle to boot.
Bradshaw…. nice to see you over at nflmocks.com . You know I always appreciate the feedback. I would say the Giants pick was one of the toughest for me. I was thinking Iupati would be a nice fit but also I am hearing they are high on Witherspoon.
I don’t understand why everyone thinks The Bengals need to draft a TE in the first round.
They picked up Chase Coffman last year. Its entirely too soon to give up on that experiment.
Aside from that, its the AFC North….unless the TE can block and catch, there is no reason to reach for him in the 1st round.
The Bengals need to be drafting Defense. Roy Williams was only given a 1 year contract. None of the other safeties on the roster really have that game change ability. So, in my opinion,Safety is a very good possibility in the 1st.
Dhani Jones isn’t getting any younger either. Someone like Kindle or Witherspoon can only bolster a LB corps that is in desperate need of depth, as well as a starter.
Other positions that could be addressed
-Wide Receiver, with the signing of Bryant the need isn’t as immediate, but if someone like Dez falls to the Bengals, they almost have to grab him.
-Offensive Line, not really a first round need. But Bobbie Williams isn’t getting any younger. Definitely worth looking at.
For the first time in a long time, the Bengals have a pretty solid team. This affords them the luxury of drafting BPA.
Gresham may turn out to be great for some team….I just don’t think its going to be Cincinnati.
