Texas quarterback Colt McCoy suffered what appeared to be a serious shoulder injury during the first drive of the National Championship game. It was later reported that McCoy suffered a pinched nerve in his throwing shoulder. The 2009 AT&T and ESPN All-America Player of the Year said today that he is close to 100%, but reports indicate that the Longhorns signal caller will not take part in throwing drills at the 2010 NFL Scouting Combine
McCoy is currently the No. 3 ranked quarterback by NFL Mocks. He has a high second-round grade and is behind first-round prospects Jimmy Clausen of Notre Dame and Oklahoma’s Sam Bradford.
McCoy injured his shoulder on the first drive of the National Championship game, and Dr. James Andrews has advised the Longhorns star to not take part in the combine drills.
Over 300 players have been invited to attend the 2010 NFL Scouting Combine which will get underway February 24 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The annual job fair for NFL prospects will last until March 2. More than 600 NFL coaches, scouts, and general managers are in attendance for the event which runs Saturday through Tuesday.
