The nation’s top-ranked player and Heisman Trophy finalist Ndamukong Suh has chosen his representation. Suh has decided to go with Maximum Sports Management, which is led by Roosevelt Barnes and Eugene Parker.
“We signed him late last night,” Barnes said.
Eugene Parker was in the news during the 2009 preseason because he was at the center of a contract dispute with San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree. Crabtree was the 10th overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft and it took him 162 days to sign a contract. Crabtree was on the sideline for the first five weeks of the 49ers season.
While some concerns may rise from fans, Suh supporters should not worry. Roosevelt Barnes will serve as Suh’s lead agent, not Eugene Parker.
The dispute between Crabtree and the 49ers was based on Crabtree’s opinion that he deserved to be the first wide receiver drafted and he wanted more money than Darrius Heyward-Bey who was selected by the Raiders three picks earlier.
Suh does not have the ego that Crabtree has and he also should not slip in the draft. Many draft experts have Suh penciled in as the number one selection in the 2010 NFL Draft.
