USC Receiver Damian Williams Likely to Enter NFL Draft
Multiple reports are indicating that USC wide receiver Damian Williams will skip his senior season and enter the 2010 NFL Draft.
USC head coach Pete Carroll said, “There’s a lot of indications (he is going pro) because he graduated. We’re talking about it. We haven’t had a serious meeting yet. His parents have been around here a lot.”
Williams earned his degree last week and told friends he would be spending the next semester training for the NFL draft and not at USC.
Williams, who is No. 23 on the NFLMocks.com Big Board, has been the best receiver at USC over the past two seasons since he transferred from Arkansas. His 58 receptions and 6 touchdowns in 2009 led the team.
The Trojans play Boston College on Saturday in the Emerald Bowl and Williams is expected to make his official announcement at some point after the game.
Williams is a very polished wideout. With his excellent hands and work ethic, you can expect to hear his name called within the first 32 selections of the 2010 NFL Draft.
