Tim Tebow Unsure If He Will Play In Senior Bowl
The annual Senior Bowl is where the nations top seniors come and showcase their skills for top NFL scouts in a week long event. Participants take part in various drills and they receive coaching from NFL staffs. One senior who is unsure whether he will take part in the activities is Florida Gators quarterback Tim Tebow.
Tebow said, “I don’t know. I haven’t talked to anybody about it. If the people I talk to that are wise think that I should play in it, I’ll go play in it. If they don’t, I won’t. I don’t know.
“I’ll do whatever I need to do [to impress NFL scouts and GMs] — throw out here a million times, I don’t care.”
If Tebow wants to stay true to his words, he will play. There are questions about whether or not Tebow will be able to make the transition to the NFL, and if he really is interested in doing whatever it takes to impress the scouts he will make himself available for the game.
More than 800 NFL scouts, coaches, and general managers make the trip to Mobile, Ala. where the Senior Bowl is held. The week of practices, and the game itself, will be aired live on the NFL Network.
It’s not that simple to just say Tebow should play in the game. If playing in the game and not playing well because of an unfamiliarity with the system will hurt his performance and destroy his NFL stock then he shouldn’t play. The Senior game isn’t the be all end all. Tebow is going to have all summer to work on playing under center and changing his throwing motion. While playing for the Gators he could NOT work out over the summer. and he couldn’t change his throwing motion mid season. That’s why this summer will be his first real opportunity to really improve his weak areas as a QB.
