Alabama Sends Five Players to Senior Bowl

The No. 1 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide will send five players to the annual Senior Bowl. Four of the five Alabama players, cornerback Javier Arenas, nose tackle Terrence Cody, kicker Leigh Tiffin, and offensive guard Mike Johnson, were first-team All-Americans. The fifth player is tight end Colin Peek.
This is the first time in Senior Bowl history that four All-Americans from the same team will take the field.
Arenas and Cody could hear their names called in the first-round if they put on solid workouts throughout the week. Arenas is currently a fringe first-round pick and the third rated corner in the NFL Mocks rankings. Cody is No. 27 on the Big Board.
Johnson is one of the top five guards in this year’s class and he could be selected in the second round. Johnson is very versatile and can play guard and tackle which helps his stocks. Teams love drafting players who can play multiple positions so that they can save a roster spot.
Peek is currently rated as a mid-round pick along with kicker Leigh Tiffin. Tiffin is the number one rated place kicker in the 2010 draft.
Alabama is currently focused on preparing for their BCS National Championship game against Texas on Jan. 7. The Senior Bowl takes place on Jan. 30.
