Tennessee Safety Eric Berry “Leaning” Towards NFL Draft

Tennessee’s superstar safety Eric Berry said that he is likely going to go pro. Berry, who is No. 3 on the NFLMocks.com Big Board, will talk to head coach Lane Kiffin to discuss his future, but the odds are leaning towards Berry entering the 2010 Draft.

“Right now I’m kinda leaning toward leaving, but I want to make sure I get other opinions about it,” Berry said.

Berry is the top safety on many boards and he is looking like a top 5 pick. The 1st team All-American has been seeking the advice of former Tennessee Vol players Jerod Mayo and Jason Allen; Mayo declared early and Allen stayed all four years.

Berry added to his trophy case when he was awarded the Jim Thorpe award this season. The honor is given to recognize the nation’s most outstanding defensive back.
