Kentucky RB Derrick Locke Gauging NFL Draft Status

AUTHOR: Josh Sanchez | IN: NFL Draft | COMMENTS: None Yet |

In a puzzling move, University of Kentucky running back Derrick Locke has submitted his paperwork to the NFL Draft Advisory Board to see where he stands in the NFL Draft.

Locke is only 5′9, 190, but he has the ability to run one of the fastest times in the 40 yard dash. Locke was second in the SEC in all-purpose yards averaging 150.9 yards per game in 2009. The move is unexpected due to the fact that Locke is likely only going to receive a late-round grade.

Last season Trevard Lindley, Micah Johnson and Jeremy Jarmon all submitted paperwork to the Advisory Board before deciding to return to school. Kentucky coach Rich Brooks said Locke is the only Wildcat underclassmen who is testing the waters this year.
