The New York Giants took step one in replacing Plaxico Burress by selecting North Carolina receiver Hakeem 
Nicks with the 29th pick of round one.
Nicks has been touted as the most “pro ready” receiver in the Class of ‘09. One of the bigger concerns was Hakeem’s weight that was rumored to have ballooned well above the 212 lbs he weighing in at the combine with.
