Roger Goodell wasted no time in announcing former Georgia Bulldog Matthew Stafford as the number one overall selection in the 2009 NFL Draft.
After an 0-16 campaign, the only way that things could be any worse in Detroit is if the NFL decides to add more games to the schedule. Stafford is the 8th quarterback to be taken number one overall since 1998 and is the second QB taken in the top 5 by Detroit since 2002. Lion fans can only hope that Stafford plays the position of QB as well as Joey Harrington played the piano.
