The Arizona Cardinals appear to have officially closed the door on the Edgerrin James era. With the 31st pick 
of the first round, the defending NFC champs selected Ohio State running back Chris “Beanie” Wells.
Wells was the third running back selected in round one despite being seen as the top back in the draft by many. He will team with speedy second year back Tim Hightower to give the Cards their own verison of “Smash and Dash”.
