Worst Man Drafted Tournament: East Region Round One
In the East region of the first ever Worst Man Drafted tournament, we have an interesting cast of characters.
Heath Shuler. An ex-quarterback who’s already been in Congress as long as he was in the NFL, even though he was elected to his first term in 2006.
Dimitrius Underwood. An ex-defensive tackle who once slit his throat while yelling “I’m not worthy of God.”
Todd Blackledge. Another top-ten quarterback who was such a bustĀ he scared the Chiefs out of going after another young potential franchise QB for a quarter century.
Speaking of quarterbacks, what about Akili Smith? He couldn’t even hack it in the CFL. Kyle Boeller? Yeah, Ravens fans love talking about him. Tommy Maddox? Jack Thompson? Jim Druckenmiller? Dumb and dumber and dumberer. Then there was David Carr, the guy who set the Texans back a decade.
That leads usĀ to Steve Emtman, our No. 1 seed. Emtman was part of the Colts’ infamous 1990 draft class, a class where they had both the No. 1 and 2 picks. The Colts managed to completely whiff on both picks, but Emtman might have been the bigger bust of the two. Six years, eight sacks and a much better real estate career than a playing one. Sorry, Indianapolis, it happens to the best of us.
