Mock Draft II: Who Will Be Your Team's Valentine?
The draft is a topsy-turvy crapshoot to predict pre-Combine. In my latest mock, the entire top four switches around, Eugene Monroe is the new No. 1 pick, and Jason Smith is the other big riser. Andre Smith is now the third tackle on a lot of people’s boards, for one reason or another. The other big developments are that Josh Freeman keeps on moving up, and Beanie Wells has surpassed Knowshon Moreno. Darrius Heyward-Bay also sneaks into the first round.
Check it out and feel free to comment…

February 10th, 2009 at 12:14 ami don't see the lions taking 2 offensive tackles with both of their round 1 picks
February 10th, 2009 at 6:01 amAs an Eagles fans, I'd cry tears of joy if they ended up with Moreno and DHB. But as a realistic Eagles fan I know one of these scenarios HAS to happen. Reid will draft AT LEAST 1 offensive lineman in round 1. And that other pick will potentially get traded for as many 2nd round draft choices as possible. It's just how Reid and the Eagles work.
February 10th, 2009 at 1:51 pmlions dont take 2 OT with their first 2 picks. They took an OT with their first pick last year , crappy draft
February 10th, 2009 at 4:19 pmThanks, fellas. That was a goof. Meet to switch Jerry and Oher. Just an oversight.
February 10th, 2009 at 9:08 pmWell, I dont think that the Bears are going to take another project WR. They already have one with Hester. I am hoping that the Jags lack of O lineman will dictate that they pick up a tackle, perhaps OT Michael Oher, Mississippi. I would love for Maclin to then fall to Chicago. I don't see the Freeman pick happening that early either. I would bet that someone trades into the end of the first round to grab him before Detroit picks at the top of the second. IMO
February 10th, 2009 at 9:56 pmAll I can say is I get a real queazy feeling every time I see a mock draft that places Stafford with the Chiefs. Pioli's history with the Pats along with my gut tells me this doesn't happen. Look for a far more conservative pick – e.g., Aaron Curry, Andre Smith, or Malcolm Jenkins.
February 10th, 2009 at 10:18 pmyou do know that DT means 'defensive' tackle right?
February 11th, 2009 at 12:41 amcrappy response! DT stands for 'defensive' tackle take a look at Peria Jerry. he plays DEFENSE.
February 11th, 2009 at 12:44 amYeah. I also don’t see KC taking a QB. Pioli was around NE long enough to learn that the secret to their “QB system” was simply building and maintaining a very good O-line – something KC lacks most of all. If Pioli can fix that through free agency and the draft, suddenly a guy like Thigpen may start to look adequate after all. And it might even make LJ happy. Well, happier, anyway.
February 10th, 2009 at 10:09 pmhate to tell you 49ers are not even interested Marck Sanchez. pat white maybe in 3rd. first round is a linemen I'm hoping it's olinemen. but i fear it's going to be dlinemen. which will be the same mistake that everybody else has maded. when firing martz.
