Defense!! Defense !!!! DEFENSE!
Play-makers.......people who play with a swagger...a chip on their shoulder............. Miami has long needed a player like that. It often seems that under adversity, the defense bends, breaks, twists, and just dies.

Last years results may have been a smoke screen. A fortunate schedule that included some of the leagues worst teams. Miami won most of those games but struggled to establish any dominance.

The receivers may not be big names. But they get the job done. Camarillo reminds me of a certain guy we gave to New England some years ago. And Bess is very talented and reliable.

So this draft is about helping that defense get better and meaner, in the old Parcells mold!

Alright here's the recipe for a fins 09 superbowl . It all starts with resigning RT Vernon Carey. After that comes free agency not the draft. We have depth at NT with starks and Ferguson but I would love to see Albert haynesworth probably not gonna happen. Second is deffinatley WR. Only two names are worth getting in free agency and thats veterans Jerry porter and TJ "whosyourmomma" both would help their young WRs. At ILB we still got AA from Dallas it would be the shit if we got Ray Lewis but he's probably going to new York(jets). I think they might go for Jason brown at center not a lot out there. Let's just say we need a secondary. At corner. Chris mccalester from Baltimore would be great and do not forget about pacman the second rated free agent corner. Not too many safeties in free agency. Not gonna happen but tell me you wouldn't like to see micheal Vick running the wildcat. Next is the draft. Nobody ever knows what will happen in the draft so I'm just gonna tell you what I think we should do if possible. First trade John Beck for a second round pick. First round I'd like to see TE Brandon pettegrew across from fasanno or a WR like Percy harvin, mcclain or Pat white, but its probably gonna be an ILB. Second and third round should be all about the secondary. After that I don't really care. Just to let you know Ricky Williams is the man(my favorite football player) and if you don't believe it here one stat for you the last two full seasons Ricky Williams played the fins made the playoffs.

I think that we go after Albert Hanesworth hard! The run killed us in the Baltimore Game and Hanesworth would solve that problem. We also need big time possession reciever that could free up Ted Ginn.

Very well said! I like to nitpick, but not much to nitpick about this. :) I agree totally on the WR issue. At the end of the day, Miami had a great passing year and this YOUNG core will only get better with experience (I still think we get Austin from Dallas). I'm in Raleigh, NC... and have seen DJ Boldin play at Wake Forest. He play reminds me of his brother's. I like Michael Hamlin a lot as well- he's a pure football player, leader, and class act. (Left out) Clint Sintim has the size and instincts to possibly be a big MLB who can get to the QB like Zach Thomas of old.... Worse case scenario he can be groomed to play behind Joey. Thoughts, Shane? Outside of Victor Harris, who IMO plays wrecklessly, you nailed the corners. If we sign Jason Brown/ Carey, don't forget about Connor Barwin as a project rush LB. You only have to watch his goal line block on Clay Mathews in the Senior Bowl to like him. LOL.
