Is Tim Tebow a NFL QB?
I have my own thoughts on this but I want thoughts from everybody else. Is Tim Tebow a NFL quarterback? The Heisman Trophy winner can sling it, but he does need to work on his accuracy at times as well as going completely though his progression.
Another problem for Tebow is whether or not he can run a pro style offense. Even in high school Tebow ran the spread offense, which does not work in the NFL.
So can Tebow succeed at the next level? He’s a big guy that can make plays with his feet when he needs to do and when he’s on he’s as accurate as any quarterback in college football. Yet the debate rages on.
I’ve seen mock drafts have him going in the top ten to mock drafts that don’t have him in the first round at all. Some people think Tebow shouldn’t be drafted at all. That’s why I want the opinion of my readers.
So vote below and then comment and tell everyone why you think Tebow is or isn’t a NFL quarterback.

As a Gator fan, I have seen what happens to Gator quarterbacks when they enter the NFL. And it isn't pretty.
We haven't seen an Urban Meyer coached Gators QB try to go to the NFL. Chris Leak was not a guy that anyone thought could make it in the NFL, and he was never given a shot. Chances are, Tebow will get his shot.
Make sure you leave your thoughts down here after you vote.
Has he ever taken a snap from underneath the center
16 I think, out of over 1000 snaps in his college career. He's only taken one snap from under center where he's thrown a pass and that was earlier this year.
I have seen quite a bit of Tim( Im not a Gator fan) & believe he will be an excellent NFL QB–just not real soon. He is going to take work, instruction, & patience, but it will pay off for whoever drafts him.
I am not sure I would say excellent quite yet. I do agree he would need time before he is ready to be an NFL QB.
Tebow will eventually make a good QB in the NFL. His College success is what will give him the shot to do so; But, he has never worked from a pro style offense……he's a great spread offense QB…..but, NFL would stand for Not For Long if he tried to run the same way in the pros. Give him a few years though, and I think he will be a respectable QB in the Pros and have a successful career.
The UF offense does not prepare him to be an NFL QB. Not only is his accuracy in question as well as his delivery speed but taking the ball under center is almost foreign to him. Tebow would be a project for some team but does have great marketing value.
I´m not a gator fan, i´ve seen him play a lot… And in my opinion i think he is going to be a good NFL QB, he is talented and you can see that he is a leader in and out the field.
If Ben Roethlisberger and David Garrard can be as successful as they have been Tebow will blow the roof off the dump.
I cannot believe anyone that thinks he won't at least be a average NFL QB.
You have to realize.. people have doubted Tebow at every level.. people are saying the exact same thing now about Tebow going to the NFL they did before he QBed in the SEC. Then he won the Heisman as a sophomore for the first time in history!
I think most intelligent people can see Tebow will be a great QB. It is the haters, people who are fans of his competition who only watch him one game and nitpick him to death and parrot all these cliches about Tebow.
I think Big Ben has way more talent than you might want to believe. I do agree Tebow will be something in the pros, just not sure he is going to be one of the top in the NFL. I think he will be on a roster and the transition will take him a lot longer than Matt Ryan, but we will have to wait and see.
What I never hear mentioned is how ugly of a ball he throws. Maybe I'm just slainted, but his ball looks like my 4 year old threw it, end over end to wobble, wobble, wobble. I would think this would matter. And, has there ever been a gay NFL QB?
Kordell Stewart…
I think it all depends on if he can learn to read coverages and scan defenses like a good nfl qb can. In the offense hes in now he doesnt look at as many things that a nfl qb has to look at, he makes quick and simple reads and then reacts. From what ive seen on his espn special when he was in high school and from what i see in college, he is a really hard worker and highly motivated person so i think he can learn how to be a pro qb and run a pro style offense. If people are questioning his accuracy though just look at his last two seasons:sophomore year he had 6 interceptions to 32 tds and this year he has 2 interceptions to 25 tds.
If you wanna measure precision and accuracy then look at how little he turns it over. Some say its because he ll scramble if the play doesnt look good and i say so what, although i know he wont run over or drag nfl defensemen around he certainly has the skill to escape the pocket and scramble for considerable yardage, or atleast way more then the average nfl quarterback. In terms of thinking he will be Kordell Stewart is a bit of a long shot, Kordell put up a piss load of stats in college with a heisman winner next to him in Rashaan Salaam. Salaam put up 186 yards a game in 1994 and i can only imagine the play action opened up alot of passing plays for Kordell with Salaam being such a threat. Tebow does have alot of weapons around him but none dominant like Salaam was and dont even mention Percy Harvin. Kordell Stewart can be compared to Troy Smith but not Tebow.
he will be an nfl quarterback because he plain flat out just wants to. i dont know if you saw him vs florida state. they showed a clip of him after he just got his helmat blown off, his face was all bloody and he had the most deterimation in his eyes that i have ever seen from a football player at any level. the instant he gets drafted he will take the same attitude that he did to florida, i am going to play and i am going to win. whoever drafts him will get an elite quarterback in the nfl for many years(unless its the lions they will never win)
No he wont he will not be a good QB, He isn't even being recruited as a QB hes being recruited as a Tight end by most teams because hes 6-4 240 fast and tough so no, he wont be a good QB if he plays QB at all he will be in the wildcat form
I think Ben is a more polished "thrower" mechanics wise.. but I personally believe Tebow is a much smarter QB…has much better instincts as a passer.. and I think he throws a much better long ball too. AND Tebow is 1000 times the athlete Bigben is. Same exact thing with David Garrard. Similar to Tebow but Tebow is better in every aspect accept Garrard throws a tighter spiral. All people really have to knock Tebow is his spiral. which is ridiculous. They will probably fix that in the pros before he even starts.. and even if they don't, who gives bleep? He works with it fine.. NFL Qbs and coaches have raved about Tebow as a passer.
tebow has the arm an speed, put him on a team that has a good vetran quarterback that can teach him, someone like Tom Brady, McNabb, Peyton Manning, or a good cordinator like jason garrett, tim tebow has the biggest potential in this draft without a doubt, he just has certain areas he needs coaching.
Tim tebow will suck if he goes into the nfl. He is a good guy, but he is not a nfl QB.
TIM TEBOW IS A GOOD GUY. IS NOT NFL MATERIAL.
He would be better at Running back. he has beastly strength and can run like a running back
He is the man. Plays with heart, and is very determined. He will be a Hall Fame quaterback. Take my word for it.
the nfl is built on Athletes not who can stand in the back field and throw a pass. Tebow will be an nfl QB. and will have sucess throwing the ball.
no i dont think he can perform at the next level he lacks accuracy as u mention and also as u metioned we dont know he can run a pro offense i think if he will be a good QB it will take him about 4-6 years to develop he wont be a matt ryan.
There is no way he will be an NFL quarterback. His reads are slow. His mechanics and release are slow, and probably the most critical, he does not have a strong arm to make the downfield throws. He also does not know how to take the ball from under center. Sure he has put up gaudy college numbers but this is college. He has a high completion percentage but these are pretty much all easy short passes and lateral passes. His gifted receivers then often turn these into big yards and touchdowns which of course count towards his passing stats. But this is far different than hitting a 30 yard pass down a seam through coverage something that he can’t do but an NFL quarterback has to be able to. The only deep throws I have seen him complete are to wide open receivers and busted coverage. Again this has little to do with him, and more to do with the defense screwing up and again his talented receivers just being too fast to recover on. He really lobs up some wobbly deep balls.
