The Week That Was in Football

Posted by: nflmocks

Matt Jones (NYtimes.com)Matt Jones arrested: I didn’t know that Matt Jones was just your everyday NFL player/ cocaine user until he was arrested on Thursday morning when police found him cutting up cocaine with a credit card.

The Jaguars put a lot of money towards the 25 year old just a few years ago when they drafted him out of Arkansas to play wide receiver. Jones, a quarterback in college, learned the position quickly.

Now his entire career is up in the air as the police investigate what happened on Thursday morning.

I don’t know why a lot of athletes put themselves in situations like this. They are getting paid a ton of money but they can’t seem to handle the responsibility that comes with it.

Terrence Kiel dies in car crash: San Diego Chargers safety Terrence Kiel was thrown from his sedan when he hit a wall after leaving a party last Friday night. It’s terrible that this happened and Kiel was a good football player that will be missed by many.

And then there’s that Favre guy: Is he coming back? Favre texts Ted Thompson but the Packers GM is on vacation and doesn’t want to discuss Favre’s “itch” to play.  I’ve said enough about this already for a week.

            BallHype: hype it up!

Some Jaguar fans would argue that Matt Jones never learned his position. And by “some Jaguar fans” I mean me.

  2. 2. Daniel Evans Says:

He was slowly developing. QB to WR is a tough swap.

  3. 3. Josh Says:

Matt Jones was an Arkansas Hog, that should explain some of it

  4. 4. Zach Says:

My buddy that knows him and has hung out with him has said that this guy likes to party more than your average Joe. I love how he is saying that it wasn’t his and his Dad is defending him. My question is why was he even around it?
