| Team |
1st Round |

1. Miami Dolphins - Glenn Dorsey DT LSU
2. St. Louis Rams - Jake Long OT Michigan
- Combine Long with Orlando Pace and the Ram’s offense will be dominant once again. Bulger will be a very happy man at the Pro Bowl in 2009.
3. Atlanta Falcons* - Matt Ryan QB Boston College
- Harrington and Leftwich are not the answer. I’m not sure if Ryan is either, but they have to take a shot.

4. Oakland Raiders* - Darren McFadden RB Arkansas
- The Raiders get the most talented player in the draft again, but will somehow screw it up.

5. Kansas City Chiefs* - Sedrick Ellis DT USC
- Yes Kansas City has other needs, mainly OT, but how could you pass on this beast?
6. New York Jets - Chris Long DE Virginia
- The Jets have a bad pass rush. Chris Long is a great pass rusher. Problem solved. He can also move inside if needed.
7. New England Patriots (From 49ers) - Leodis McKelvin CB Troy
- With Asante Samuel all but gone, Leodis is the pick here.

8. Baltimore Ravens - Mike Jenkins CB South Florida
- Yes the Ravens need a QB, but with what is left at that position they go with another need at CB.

9. Cincinnati Bengals - Keith Rivers LB USC
- This team needs help everywhere on the defensive side of the football. Rivers will come in with the ability to make plays all over the field.
10. New Orleans Saints - Dan Connor LB Penn St.
- The Saint’s linebackers would make a great special teams unit. Connor is a hard nosed tackling machine that improves this group instantly.
11. Buffalo Bills - Vernon Gholston DE Ohio St.
- Combining Gholston with Aaron Schobel will help the Bills defense in alot of ways.

12. Denver Broncos - Ryan Clady OT Boise St.
- Denver gets a great tackle at this spot who will come in and start from day one. The Broncos could also take a LB here.
13. Carolina Panthers - Kenny Phillips S Miami
- With a need at the safety position the Panthers get the best available.

14. Chicago Bears - Andre Woodson QB Kentucky
- This is the only pick that makes sense for the Bears. If they go in a different direction there could be riots outside Soldier Field.

15. Detroit Lions - Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie CB Tenn St.
- Cromartie benefits from a great Senior Bowl with a top 15 pick. The Lions make this pick on potential more than anything.
16. Arizona Cardinals - Rashard Mendenhall RB Illinois
- The Edge is done and JJ Arrington never got started, so Arizona is forced to take another RB. Rashard shouldn’t disappoint the Cardinals’ fans though.

17. Minnesota Vikings -Antoine Cason CB Arizona
- Minnesota had the worst pass defense in the NFL last season, so it makes sense to grab a guy like Cason.
18. Houston Texans - Jonathan Stewart RB Oregon
- Ron Dayne and Ahman Green won’t cut it any longer. Stewart will come in and have a ton of success as Kubiak’s running back.
19. Philadelphia Eagles - Malcolm Kelly WR Oklahoma
- This pick will help everyone in the Eagles’ offense. McNabb finally will have a true number one reciever, which will help Kevin Curtis do his thing as well.
20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Jeff Otah OT Pitt
21. Washington Redskins - Mario Manningham WR Michigan
- Not only is Manningham a good reciever, but he will also give Washington a threat in the return game.
22. Dallas Cowboys (From Browns) - Felix Jones RB Arkansas
- Felix will make the Dallas fans forget about that other Jones in the backfield.
23. Pittsburgh Steelers - Chris Williams OT Vandy
- Faneca and Starks could be gone, so Williams makes the most sense for the Steelers.
24. Tennessee Titans - Calais Campbell DE Miami
- Haynesworth, Vanden Bosch, and Campbell will give alot of opposing QB’s headaches.

25. Seattle Seahawks - Sam Baker OT USC
- Seattle loves to throw the football, and Baker is a solid pass blocking tackle. It’s a match made in heaven.
26. Jacksonville Jaguars -Curtis Lofton LB Oklahoma
- Jacksonville has a great D Line, after that their defense could use a little help. Lofton(Big XII Defensive POY)has all the tools to be a dominant linebacker in the NFL.
27. San Diego Chargers -Patrick Lee CB Auburn
- Lee is a very strong corner who will play well against the large recievers in the AFC West.
28. Dallas Cowboys - Barry Richardson OT Clemson
- With the luxury of 2 first round picks, Dallas can take the best player available. Richardson would also be a nice replacement for Flozell Adams.
29. San Francisco 49ers (From Colts) - Ali Highsmith LB LSU
- With this pick the 49ers are set at linebacker for years to come with Lawson, Willis, and now Highsmith. With the coaching of Singletary they could form one of the best linebacking corps in the league.
30. Green Bay Packers -Aqib Talib CB Kansas
- Woodson and Harris are getting old, so the Packers make Talib the pick here. Learning from those two, as well as returning kicks, will help the Pack immediately.

31. New York Giants - Xavier Adibi LB Virginia Tech
- Adibi has all the potential to become a star, but has yet to realize it. The Giants are hoping to be rewarded with this high risk pick.

FORFEITED |
“If they go in a different direction there could be riots outside Soldier Field.”
Actually, it’s quite the opposite.
The majority of Bears fans would probably riot if they do draft a QB with the 14th pick. It doesn’t matter if they have Tom Brady behind center, because the O-Line is old and they have no #1 receivers.
Look for them to draft anything but QB with 14.
I don’t see it that way at all Bears Fan. Now, I’m making this mock before the combine so alot could change, but at this point in time Woodson makes the most sense for Chicago. This draft is loaded with OL, and with Long and Clady already gone I don’t see you reaching for an OT. Did you see that Marty Booker was just released by Miami? Maybe he could come in and help out your WR, HAHA.
If the Bears draft Woodson it won’t be in the first round; he is dropping like a rock. Maybe Brohm, however if Clady is gone they will more than likely trade down and take Otah or Baker and pick up another third. Bear fans are not high on Woodson
Patrick Lee? Barry Richardson? Chris Long falling to sixth? Where is this coming from? Brian Brohm is almost assured of a first-round choice, as is Derrick Harvey, Reggie Smith and there is no way DeSean Jackson falls out of the first round.
Michael, you got me on Barry Richardson(I’ve liked the kid for a few years now), but Patrick Lee will have a great combine and back up my 1st round projection. When the draft rolls around if the Chiefs have locked up Jared Allen, and Jake Long goes 2nd to the Rams, I could definitely see Chris Long dropping to 6th.
As far as the players I left out, Brohm is probably going to end up in the 1st round of my later mocks, I just need to see how he does at the combine. I also had a tough time with Derrick Harvey, it was either him or Calais that went to Tenn. I don’t see Reggie Smith as a 1st round talent yet, and I think alot of teams might wait on DeSean until the 2nd round.
Remember all of this could and probably will change after they show what they got in Indy.
David Edwards, you act like trading down is an easy thing to do. I don’t think too many teams will be knocking down the Bears door to trade up. I’ve been saying this about the Chiefs trading down for weeks, but unless Run DMC falls to us and the Cowboys wanna trade it won’t happen.
The whole Woodson is dropping like a rock thing is true, but is it fair? He had 3 or 4 days to go in and learn Mike Martz timing system(some QB’s don’t pick that up in a year) and also his OL in that game didn’t do him any favors, it seemed like Sed Ellis was all over him on every play. He also could have ducked it(Matt Ryan) or fake an injury(Brohm) but he didn’t. I give the kid alot of credit for that.
I resent the fact that Al and Lane will screw up the Nation’s first rd selection. What’s wrong with drafting the best long snapper available to go with Seabass?
That’s hilarious rr!
Highsmith’s an interesting pick…I’ve seen a number of mocks with Groves or other OLB’s, but Highsmith could play alongside Willis at the TED position…and you’re right, he could give SF an outstanding LB corps, especially with Singletary’s coaching.
I would love to see the Raiders draft a long snapper with their first pick.
Yes as I agree that the bears need a quarteback, but what good does one do you if he can’t be protected? You needa stud lt and move Tait back to his original position rt. If you can open up holes for the running game and pass block then an average quaterback is ok and they have that in Orton. You then will be helping an aging line and can take Flacco or Henne in the second round.
Ron, thanks for agreeing that you need a QB. You are right about protecting your investment, but if a top guy is there(Brohm or Woodson) you take him. I could see the Bears picking up Michael Turner and Max Starks in free agency, then drafting a QB at 14, and another OL with your 2nd round pick(OG Schuening from Oregon St).
I wish the other NFL fans commented as much as you Bears fans, you guys are great!
Is it possible to overdraft at L.T. It’s s hard to find quality there. To me Williams , Baker or Otah make sense for Bears..
Can’t see Gholston falling past the Patriots, even if they do have bigger needs at corner. The Pats usually do things by drafting young corners and signing veteran linebackers, but we saw last year that they are willing to change their way of doing things. It’s a deep class for cornerbacks, they might be able to lock up somebody like Tracy Porter or Brandon Flowers in the second or third round if they go that route.
As said in the prior comments, I agree with the Bears not picking Woodson with their first pick. Not just because they have a bigger need across the offensive line, but they could get Woodson, Henne, or Flacco in the second round.
That’s the beauty of a draft though, in a couple months the people who felt the Bears would pick a lineman could look bad, you just never know what is going to happen. Overall it’s a solid mock that just needs to be tweaked a little bit in my estimation.
Thanks for the positive comments Bill, you are exactly right about things changing in the coming weeks. As far as Gholston it is hard to say at this point, unless the Pats plan on making him an OLB, I think they go corner.
i dont mind the eagles pick but the rest of this kind of sucks, you have tons of prospects here that are defintely NOT first rounders (Barry Richardson!!!? He’ll be lucky to go round 3-4)….
