Nolan wants him back, "Soap" as he's called wants to come back. Nolan envisions him playing at DE, vice NT. He wants a huge front three...with Sopoaga and NT Franklin, that's 2/3 of it. The need is for a big stud to play the other DE. Marques Douglas is an UFA and could well sign elsewhere, plus he's a big undersized for what Nolan wants to do. If Balmer could play DE, we're in business. Other possibility is Mike Martz will lobby hard for an offensive guy...probably a WR, like Doucet (to play slot receiver) or Bowman (more of a big play guy).
