QB Jayson Foster Wins Walter Payton Award

Posted by: nflmocks

The Division I-AA Football Championship subdivision has named its Walter Payton Award winner — QB Jayson Foster from Georgia Southern. Not a big shock here since Jayson rushed for 1,844 yards for 24 touchdowns, and passed for 1,203 yards and 6 touchdowns. A quarterback that rushes for more yards than passing is sort of odd, but this kid has real talent at running the ball. He actually had 50 catches during his four-years at GSU too. Foster is listed at 5′9 and 164 pounds. His talent and size will not help him become an NFL quarterback. He also is probably too small to play running back in the pros, but he could develop into a return specialist or wide receiver.
